When we started writing Happy Home, we didn’t mean to make a holiday record. We were honestly just trying to capture what the season really feels like. 

Somewhere along the line, we ended up with five songs that somehow started to make sense of the family dinners, hometown nostalgia, late-night dreaming, growing up and changing, and even the longing and loneliness that we all seem to relate to around this time.

Our resolution for the EP was to get 5 real stories and make 5 real songs. We invited our friends into our own home, started with real conversations, and did our best to capture the humanity of their experience.

For us, Happy Home is about exposing the reality of this time of year. It opens the door to strip away the decorations and stars, and invites you to be okay with whatever this holiday might bring you.
